Disaster Recovery Program

North Dakota Rural Water recently introduced a new program aimed at providing disaster recovery services to communities in need. The disaster recovery circuit rider is currently traveling across the state to educate communities on emergency response plans and presidentially declared disaster grant funding. We are proud to be a part of this effort and look forward to seeing the positive impact it will have on the communities we serve.

Our disaster recovery circuit rider will meet with the system operators and/or city auditors/administrators and an initial assessment will be conducted to identify any potential gaps in mitigation, preparedness, response, and recovery strategies. Following this assessment, dedicated assistance is provided to update and enhance your community's emergency preparedness plan.

Currently there is also grant funding available stemming from the presidentially declared disasters in 2022.  If your system experienced any damages to its water resource infrastructure, including drinking water, wastewater, stormwater drainage, or solid waste facilities during the timelines listed on the eligibility map below, please reach out to our disaster recovery circuit rider to set up a meeting to learn more.
